Iranian ‘A Winner’ to vie in Italy

Iranian short flick ‘A Winner’ has been selected to compete at the 20th edition of the Ischia Global Film Festival in Italy.

Made by Mehdi Mahaee, the short film is about a female filmmaker who is on the verge of divorce, but she realizes something that puts her at a crossroads.

The film has so far gone on screen at a number of global events, including the Riverside International Film Festival in the US.

Launched in 2003, the Ischia Global Film Festival is a popular summer film event that accepts films from around the world. Each year leaders of the film industry attend the event that takes place on the isle of Ischia near Naples.

The 2022 edition of the event will be held on July 10-17.
